Supreme Court disposed of a petition challenging the Election Commission of India’s decision to conduct a 'Special Revision' of electoral rolls in Assam rather than a more rigorous 'Special Intensive Revision' (SIR). A bench led by Chief Justice Surya Kant ruled the plea infructuous after being informed that the revision process in the state has already been finalized.
