A 32-year-old man gets life imprisonment for raping a 17-year-old girl, within file days of filing the FIR. This is considered to be one of the fastest convictions under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act. The Court has directed the accused Biswajit Dey to pay a fine of Rs 2 lakh, out of which 90 percent will go to the survivor.
