In a significant decision, the Union Cabinet on Saturday approved the creation of the 'Bharat Maritime Insurance Pool' (BMI pool) with a Rs 12,980 crore sovereign guarantee to ensure uninterrupted maritime insurance coverage amid rising global uncertainties.
