The Congress-led government in Karnataka, on Thursday, has reduced the punishment for hate crimes prescribed in the controversial Karnataka Hate Speech and Hate Crimes (Prevention and Control) Bill, 2025, from 10 to seven years. Karnataka Home Minister G. Parameshwara made the statement while explaining the Bill in the State Assembly after the House passed it.
