TVK leader M.V. Karuppiah has been appointed Pro-tem Speaker of the Tamil Nadu Assembly. Following a historic victory for CM C Joseph Vijay, Karuppiah will oversee the swearing-in of MLAs. A former AIADMK veteran, his appointment follows TVK’s 108-seat win and Vijay's immediate rollout of 200 free power units.
