Notably, Kashmir, under Article 370, had its own separate constitution and flag -- which reflected the distinct identity of the state. The same were keenly negotiated by the Kashmiri side while inking the Treaty of Accession with India. However, the abrogation of Article 370 rendered the special status null and void.
