Overall unemployment rate (UR) in urban areas for persons of age 15 years and above exhibited a declining trend 6.6 per cent during the quarter January-March 2026 compared to 6.7 per cent in the previous quarter. In rural areas, regular wage and salaried employees showed an upward movement, up to 15.5 per cent during January-March from 14.8 per cent of the previous quarter.
