The main attraction of Thrissur Pooram is the grand procession of richly adorned elephants, particularly from two main temples—Paramekkavu and Thiruvambady. These elephants, decorated with gold-plated caparisons, bells, and colourful umbrellas, face each other in a friendly competition known as the Kudamattam.
