In a record-breaking transaction for the Indian Premier League (IPL), a US-based consortium led by tech entrepreneur Kal Somani has agreed to acquire a 100% stake in the Rajasthan Royals for USD 1.63 billion (approx. ₹15,290 crore). The deal, announced on Tuesday, marks the first time an IPL franchise has been valued at over USD 1 billion.
