All 32 teams have been placed in four pots with each pot containing eight teams each. Champions League and Europa League winners Liverpool and Chelsea were placed in pot 1 along with the domestic league winners of top European leagues. Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Manchester City and Juventus were the other teams in pot 1.
