The Gates Foundation is cutting roughly 20 per cent of its workforce, or 500 roles, by 2030 to cap operating costs. Simultaneously, it has launched an external review of its past ties to Jeffrey Epstein following the release of DOJ documents. While expanding its 2026 budget to USD 9 billion, the foundation aims to close permanently by 2045.
