At least five people have died and more than 100 have fallen ill in New York City’s Harlem neighbourhood following an outbreak of Legionnaires’ disease, a severe lung infection linked to contaminated cooling towers. According to the Mayo Clinic, Legionnaires’ disease is a severe form of pneumonia caused by Legionella bacteria.
