Data from the NIWA's seven-station temperature series showed that the temperature for the past two months was an extremely high 1.53 degrees Celsius above the long-term average, reports Xinhua news agency. NIWA meteorologist Ben Noll said the previous record was 1.15 degrees Celsius above average for June and July in 2016.
