The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) in Islamabad issued a red alert today, asking the government to enact measures to avert devastation in case of the Satluj flowing way above the danger mark. Based on the NDMA's warning, the administration in Kasur and other districts of Pakistan's Punjab evacuated people from low-lying areas and shifted them to safer places.
