Gandhi Jayanti, one of the three national festivals in India, takes place on October 2. This year, the country will celebrate the 155th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, widely revered as the 'Father of The Nation.' The country will also join in to commemorate former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri's birth anniversary as Lal Bahadur Shastri Jayanti.
