Traffic cops have a hard life. It is not easy to stand all day, control the vehicles, brace the sun and yet manage the humongous traffic at odd hours. And at signals in India, it is pretty common to see beggars seeking alms or small-time sellers looking for customers. A traffic cop named B. Gopal stationed at Kukatpally street in Hyderabad could not see a homeless woman sitting at the tea stall continuously. He went ahead to find out more about her and realised she was abandoned by her nine sons! A picture had come up on social media which saw him feeding the woman with his own hands.

This kind gesture was photographed and shared on social media by Harsha Bhargavi, the Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) to the Director General of Police, Telangana. The photo was shared widely, everyone appreciating the good Samaritan behaviour of the cop. Now the woman has found shelter in Anand Ashram, Cherlapally.

While talking to The Hindu, B. Gopal said, "I offered her a cup of tea and then bought lunch for her. But she was unable to even eat with her own hands, so I fed her." His sweet gesture was noticed by C Sajjanar, Commissioner of Police-Cyberabad. He too was all praises for the home guard's kindness. The CPRO then tweeted about the progress of the woman has found a home. She wrote, "Not just left behind... the old woman is shifted by Cyberabad Police to Anand Ashramam (an old age home in) Cherlapally with the help of jail authorities," in her tweet.

It is indeed heart-warming to see how the woman has finally found a good shelter thanks to one sweet gesture by B. Gopal.
