Patna, April 5: The family of Rashtriya Janata Party (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav is set to get a new member in the family and the member is none other than Aishwarya Rai. According to media reports, Lalu's elder son Tej Pratap, who is active in politics, is set to tie the knot and settle down with Aishwarya Rai, the daughter of Chandrika Prasad Rai, a former minister of the state.

According to LiveCities, the RJD supremo's elder son Tej Pratap, who was also the health minister of Bihar, will get engaged to Aishwarya in the month of April itself. Little is known about Aishwarya except the fact that she is the daughter of Chandrika Prasad Rai and granddaughter of Daroga Prasad Rai- the ex-chief minister of the state of Bihar. The video below shows the pictures of Aishwarya Rai and her family members.

The marriage ceremony is expected to take place on May 12 after the engagement in April. The report goes on to mention that the engagement ceremony will be hosted at Hotel Maurya in Patna on April 18. However, the marriage venue was kept under wraps and there was no word about it but livecities claims that the marriage ceremony venue will be Veterinary college in Patna. But the report claims that the marriage ceremony will be attended by over 10,000 people and that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi will be sent an official invitation to attend the marriage ceremony.

In 2017, Lalu Prasad and his wife Rabri Devi had declared during a press conference in Patna, that they would not take dowry in the marriages of their two sons – Tej Pratap Yadav and Tejashwi Yadav. Dowry, though illegal, is prevalent in large parts of the country and is a big social evil in the Hindi heartland which has almost achieved the status of inevitably when it comes to marriages. “We are completely against dowry system and will not take one paisa from the bride’s family when my two sons are ready to get married,” Lalu had said according to a media report. But Rabri Devi, the wife of Lalu Prasad and former chief minister of Bihar had kicked up a controversy last year when she had said that she won't get a bahu(daughter-in-law) who "goes to mall" and wanted Gharelu (homely) daughter-in-laws.
