Elon Musk's Tesla secured a new Megapack contract in Australia for battery worth estimated $150 million. According to a post on X by Sawyer Merritt, "Tesla has secured a new $150 million+ (estimate) Megapack contract for a new battery in Australia. It will be the first eight-hour battery to be built in Australia." Tesla Megapack system is already fully operational in South Wales, according to a report published on October 10, 2023 by Teslarati. The report said that the project had three co-located systems - Riverina Energy Storage System 1 with 60MW / 120MWh, Riverina Energy Storage System 2 with 65MW / 130MWh and Darlington Point Energy Storage System with 25MW / 50MWh.
