The petition, submitted at a family court, cites cruelty under the Hindu Marriage Act as the grounds for divorce. In response, Sridevi Byrappa has released a statement on social media, accusing the actor of ‘character assassination’. On Instagram, she expressed, “It is very unfortunate and hurtful to see a person who is supposed to maintain professional decorum is yielding into character assassinating a woman in public with no truth in it.
