The Food Safety Department and Hyderabad police officials recently unearthed an adulteration of tea powder in which the accused used coconut shell powder and artificial colours and sold it to various tea stalls in the city and its suburbs. The Food Safety Commissioner of Telangana said that during the raid of Konark tea in Fatehnagar, they found adulteration of loose tea powder. The Commissioner also said that after adultering the loose tea powder with coconut shell powder and artificial colours, the same was sold to several tea stalls in and around Hyderabad. "Samples of tea powder were also collected for lab analysis. Action will be initiated as per the FSS Act, 2006," the post on X read.
