A tragic incident occurred in Muzaffarnagar on August 12 when an overloaded truck collided with a couple on a bike and it caught fire after hitting a tree. The Muzaffarnagar police got the incident's report around 8:30 AM on August 12. The deceased couple, identified as Sudhir and Sonia, were both crushed under the truck and burnt. They were constables at the Moradabad police station and belonged to Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh, as stated by IPS officer Satyanarayan. He further added that although the precise reason for the collision is yet unknown, it is suspected that the bike was riding by the side of the road when the truck hit it, either in an attempt to save another vehicle or due to loss of balance. Videos of the accident have surfaced online. Viewer discretion is advised. The truck driver reportedly fled the scene. After the fire brigade extinguished the fire, the bodies of the deceased were recovered and sent for post-mortem, and their family was informed about the accident.
