Prison Break in Haridwar: Prisoners Playing Role of ‘Vaanar’ in Ramleela Escape Jail in ‘Search’ of Sita, DM Orders Probe (Watch Video)

Two prisoners escaped from Haridwar’s Roshanabad jail on Friday while participating in the annual Ramleela performance. Inmates Pankaj and Rajkumar, serving sentences for murder and kidnapping, were playing the role of ‘Vaanar’ (monkey) in search of Sita. Although Sita was found during the play, the prisoners never returned, fleeing by jumping over the boundary wall with the help of a ladder. The jailbreak, discovered around 8 pm, has sparked concerns over prison security. घटना बीती रात की है। रामलीला मंचन के दौरान हरिद्वार जेल से दो कैदी फ़रार हो गए। इधर माता सीता की खोज हो रही थी उधर दो वानर रूपी कैदी दीवार फाँद कर भाग निकले। सब रामलीला मंचन के दृश्यों में डूब थे और ये दोनों सीढ़ी लगाकर दीवार लांघ गए।
