Bangladesh move one step closer to the Super 8 stage of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 as they defeat Netherlands by 25 runs in a crucial Group D encounter. Bangladesh were put in to bat first and they didn't get off to a good start losing Najmul Hossain Shanto and Litton Das early, Shakib Al Hasan stepped up scoring a gritty half-century and he was accompanied by Tanzim Hasan and Mahmudullah with the help of whom Bangladesh got a strong finish reaching the total of 159/5. Aryan Dutt was the pick of the Dutch bowlers. Chasing it, Netherlands got off to a strong start with Max O'Dowd, Vikramjit Singh and Sybrand Engelbrecht getting off the blocks quickly. But the wheels of the innings came off in the end as Rishad Hossain starred picking three wickets and stopped the Dutch well ahead of the finishing line.
