Jasprit Bumrah gave another example as to why he is considered a modern-day great as he dismissed Joe Root on Day 2 of the IND vs ENG 3rd Test 2025 at the Lord's Cricket Ground on July 11. The premier pacer, who had earlier castled Ben Stokes on Day 2, induced an inside edge of Joe Root's bat with the ball crashing into the middle-stump. This was the 11th time that Jasprit Bumrah dismissed Joe Root in Test cricket. Joe Root had earlier scored his 37th Test century, hitting a four off the first ball of the day's play and it was also the eighth time that he attained the three-figure mark at the Lord's Cricket Ground. But he could not add many more runs after reaching his century with Jasprit Bumrah cutting his innings short for 104 runs.
