Indian batsman Suryakumar Yadav shared a funny moment with the reporter after the IND vs AFG ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024. Surya was addressing the post match press conference where a reporter mistakenly forgot Surya's name and recognised him as Mohammed Siraj.
Indian batsman Suryakumar Yadav played a match-winning knock of 53 runs off 28 balls to help India defeat Afghanistan in their opening Super Eights match of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 by 47 runs. Surya was also adjudged as the Player of the Match for his performance. The right-handed batter came for the post-match press conference where he got engaged in a funny chat with a reporter. The reporter mistakenly called Surya Mohammed Siraj, however, while replying to the reporter Surya laughed and said, 'Siraj nahi hai yaar, vo khana khane gaye hai.' (Siraj is not here, he is having dinner). The reporter also realised his mistake and apologised for the same.
