Angel Di Maria scored a first-half goal which proved to be the difference as the Argentina National Football Team extended its winning run to four games. Lionel Messi came in as a substitute in the friendly match against Ecuador.
Preparing for the Copa America 2024, Argentina National Football Team won their first international friendly match by a narrow 1-0 scoreline. Angel Di Maria – captaining the side in the first half, scored the sole goal of the match. Angel Di María played the ball to Rodrigo De Paul and continued his run into the penalty area. De Paul found Cristian Romero who held the ball and passed it onto Di María and he would score to give Argentina the 1-0 lead. Lionel Messi entered the field in the 56th minute and showcased his magic as La Pulga created several chances for his teammates.
