Without the services of Lionel Messi, Inter Miami has booked their place in the round of 16 of the Leagues Cup 2024. Matias Rojas broke the deadlock to score the first goal for Inter Miami in the 3rd minute. Diego Gomez then doubled the lead for Inter Miami in the 11th minute. But Lorenzo Insigne for Toronto FC scored a spot kick to come close to Inter Miami. Luis Suarez then again took Inter Miami to a two-goal lead. Lorenzo Insigne scored his second spot kick of the match in the 41st minute. Matias Rojas completed his brace after scoring in the second half. Noah Allen in an unfortunate move scored an own goal but Inter Miami were the better side in the end.
