'No Room For Racism' Simone Biles Reacts to Old Video Showing Discrimination Faced By Young Black Athlete During Medal Ceremony in Ireland
In a statement released, Gymnastics Ireland said that it had received a complaint of alleged racist behavior from a parent after the event and assured to not entertain any such behaviour.
A video from the GymStart event from March 2022 in Ireland recently surfaced on social media where a young black girl was spotted in row alongside others to receive medals but is ignored entirely. The incident went viral in social media and four times Olympic gold medal winner athlete Simone Biles reacted to the incident saying the parents of the athlete reached out to her and she strictly criticised the incident saying there is 'No room for racism'. She also admitted to have sent a little video to the young girl to inspire her.
