Chipmaker AMD has confirmed acquisition of hyperscale provider ZT Systems for $4.9 billion to expand data center AI.
AMD has signed an agreement to acquire the leading hyperscale solution provider, ZT Systems, to expand its data centre AI systems significantly. AMD chairman and CEO Lisa Su said that after the acquisition, the company would combine its silicon, software, and ZT's AI system expertise and move towards the rapid deployment of artificial intelligence solutions for the cloud and its customers. AMD has confirmed that the acquisition of ZT Systems would be valued at USD 4.9 billion, and it would include a USD 400 million contingent payment on certain post-closing milestones.
