Elon Musk announced the launch of the xAI API On October 21, 2024. xAI API is now live and ready for developers. The API uses reportedly uses gRPC protocols to optimise performance for real-time and streaming applications. The xAI API gives developers access to an advanced AI model capable of understanding and generating text for tasks such as answering questions and analysing data. As per a report of TechCrunch, the xAI API has a single model, “grok-beta,” which is priced at USD 5 per million input tokens (around 7,50,000 words) or USD 15 per million output tokens.
