Akash Ambani has introduced the upgraded HelloJio, the voice assistant for the Jio set-top box (STB). The HelloJio voice assistant is accessible through the mic button on the Jio remote and has been enhanced with generative AI technology to make it smarter and more responsive. Akash Ambani emphasised that the company focused on improving HelloJio’s ability to understand natural language to make it easier for users to control their set-top box with their voice commands. The voice assistant now understands commands more naturally and can search across multiple apps, including Disney+ Hotstar, Amazon Prime, and more. When a user gives a voice command, HelloJio displays options from all available apps in a single list to enhance the user experience.
