A couple of days ago, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Khelo India app during National Youth Parliament Festival 2019. Sadly the day coincided with the one where Indian Air Force pilot was captured by Pakistan after a combat operation. Renowned journalist Barkha Dutt, took on the Indian Prime Minister for not delaying the launch of the Khelo India app amid India-Pakistan tensions. This surely did not go down well with Saina Nehwal who slammed the senior journalist and said that the criticism was uncalled for. Khelo India Mobile App Launched by PM Narendra Modi; Application Aims to Bring Awareness on Fitness & Sports (Watch Video).

Barkha Dutt took to social media and retweeted the pictures of Narendra Modi launching the app. “With respect, I do feel the launch of this Khel App could have been postponed given that one of our young pilots is in Pakistan custody. I know the forces have a free hand but more communication and sensitivity from GOI called for.” Saina obviously saw the tweet and responded to the same saying that the launch of the app was a part of the Youth Parliament Festival which was aimed to unite India geographically, culturally and economically and there was no better time to strengthen the unity of our youth.

Check out their Twitter banter below.

The Khelo India mobile app is aimed to bring awareness on fitness and sports and will also be handy in mapping the budding sports person from all the corner of the country. The best feature of the app is the fitness assessment of the children where the fitness level of the school going children can also be tracked.
