PV Sindhu, on Saturday, defeated Canada’s Michelle Li in the second semi-final match of Badminton Women’s Single category. Sindhu beat her Canadian opponent in straight sets as the final scoreline read 21-18, 21-8. In her road to final, Sindhu has beaten Brittney Tam (Canada) in Quarter-finals, Hsuan-Yu Chan (Australia) in Round of 16, and Andra Whiteside (Fiji) in Round of 32 comprehensively.

Earlier in the day, Saina Nehwal defeated Scotland’s Kirsty Gilmour in the first semi-final match of Badminton Women’s Single category. The match stretched into three sets with the final scoreline reading 21-14, 18-21, 21-17, in Saina’s favour. In her road to final, Saina has defeated Rachel Honderich (Canada) in Quarter-finals, Jessica Li (Isle of Man) in Round of 16, and Elsie De Villiers (South Africa) in Round of 32 comfortably.

Saina Nehwal is currently ranked 12, while PV Sindhu ranks 3 in the BWF latest rankings.
