West Indies vs India at Emirates Old Trafford, Manchester- India won by 125 runs

The one-sided match saw India scoring 268/7 batting first, while West Indies failed extensively by losing the match by 125 runs. Mohammed Shami took four wickets to outclass the Caribbean in the second innings.

India vs England at Edgbaston, Birmingham- India lost by 31 runs

This was the first defeat of Virat Kohli’s side, as they fell 31 runs shorts to set 337-run target set by host England in the first innings.

The men in blue fixed their spot in the semi-finals, after defeating their Asian rival by 28 runs. Rohit Sharma hit a century to take India to 314 /9 in 50 overs, which the Mashrafe Mortaza-led team failed to reach.

The match was too close but Kiwis managed a victory in the end, with Ross Taylor’s 82-run knock.

New Zealand vs Afghanistan at The Cooper Associates County Ground, Taunton – New Zealand won by 7 wickets

Kiwis manage a comfortable victory after outclassing Afghanistan by 7 wickets.

New Zealand vs India- Trent Bridge, Nottingham- Match washed out due to rain 

The heavy rains forced the match to get abandoned as India, New Zealand were allotted 1-1 point each.

In the close clash, West Indies went short of just 5 runs after Carlos Brathwaite’s long flight shot fell into the hands of Trent Boult near the boundary.

New Zealand vs Pakistan at Edgbaston, Birmingham - New Zealand lost by 6 wickets

This match started the losing streak for Kiwis, as Pakistan defeated them easily by 6 wickets after successfully chasing 237/6 scored by Blackcaps while batting first.

New Zealand vs Australia at Lord's, London- New Zealand lost by 86 runs

Australia outclasses Kiwis as the latter was following a 244-run target. The Kane Williamson side suffered a batting collapse, eventually scoring just 157/10 in 43.4 overs.

New Zealand vs England at Riverside Ground, Chester-le-Street- New Zealand lost by 119 runs

This loss of New Zealand opened the doors of semi-final berth of hosts England, who bounced back to keep their journey in World Cup 2019 on.
