Hardik Pandya might have issued an apology over his misogynistic comments on Karan Johar’s talks show Koffee With Karan 6, but the BCCI does not seem to have taken the issue lightly. As per reports, the cricketing body has now, issued a show cause notice to both KL Rahul and Hardik Panda seeking an explanation of his statements on Koffee With Karan 6. A few hours ago, Hardik Pandya took to Twitter and said that he got carried away with the format of the show. Vinod Rai, BCCI, Chairman COA confirmed the news and said that the cricketers have been given 24 hours for an explanation. Pandya in his statement of apology said, “After reflecting on my comments on Koffee with Karan, I would like to apologise to everyone concerned who I may have hurt in any way. Honestly, I got a bit carried away with the nature of the show. In no way did I mean to disrespect or hurt anyone’s sentiments. Respect.” A senior official from the BCCI said that an apology is no way of closing the issue and slammed him for taking the lightly the issue of respecting women. “He needs to understand the impact the utterances of an international cricketer have in this country but more importantly, he needs to learn how to differentiate between the right and the wrong. Right now he seems to merely respond to the outrage and not to his own thought process and conduct,” said the BCCI official to a newspaper.
