With Rahul Dravid's tenure as Indian men's cricket team head coach to end after the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024, the BCCI have already opened up applications for the next head coach. Many names are reported to apply for the post which include Justin Langer, Gautam Gambhir, Ashish Nehra and many more. The BCCI have stated that even if Dravid wants to continue as the head coach, he can reapply for the position. Apart from all these names, a report by the Hindustan Times claims that former Kiwi captain and Chennai Super Kings head coach Stephen Fleming is BCCI's first choice as India's next head coach. The report further adds that BCCI can approach MS Dhoni to convince Fleming to apply for the post. MS Dhoni Likely to Visit London For Muscle Tear Treatment; Will Decide Future Course Post-Recovery: Report

Stephen Fleming's Bond With MS Dhoni

Stephen Fleming has been the head coach of the Chennai Super Kings since the beginning of the Indian Premier League and has already won five titles with the franchise. Fleming is always seen engaged with the players and also had a deep chemistry with MS Dhoni when he was the team's captain. Even if BCCI wants to onboard Stephen Fleming for India's head coach role, there can be no other person than MSD who could convince him.

Apart from Stephen Fleming, Gautam Gambhir can be another person who BCCI may approach for India's head coach role. Gambhir is currently the mentor of the Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League 2024. Gambhir has two IPL titles for KKR and has scored a lot of runs for India.
