Cheteshwar Pujara joined the part with Mayank Agarwal and registered his 22nd Test half-century before falling prey to Kagiso Rabada for 58. In the second India vs South Africa Test, the veteran came in to bat after the early exit of Rohit Sharma. The batsman assessed the conditions well and made sure India doesn’t lose any further wickets in the first session. The stalwart complimented Agarwal well and the duo stitched up a great partnership. Both the batsman gave India the upper hand in the match. Pujara’s partner in crime Agarwal has already crossed the fifty-run mark and will eye the second ton of the series. Agrawal scored 215 runs in the first match at Visakhapatnam and has extended his stellar run in the second Test too. For South Africa, Kagiso Rabada dismissed both Rohit Sharma and Cheteshwar Pujara and is the pick of the bowlers for the South Africans.

Earlier in the day, India won the toss and elected to field first. For India,  Umesh Yadav came in for Hanuma Vihari while Anrich Nortje replaced Dane Piedt in the South African set-up. India will aim to continue their dominance and capitalize to the start they got while the Faf du Plessis led side will look to make a substantial comeback and wrap up the hosts as soon as possible. With the likes of Wriddiman Saha and Ajinkya Rahane left to bat, India will fancy their chances to post a mammoth first innings total and clinch the match and seal the series 2-0.
