The third week of November observed many superb cricket performances, especially in Test matches. Three prominent matches took place under ICC Test Championships 2019. These were India vs Bangladesh 2nd Test 2019, Australia vs Pakistan 1st Test 2019 and New Zealand vs England 1st Test 2019. These notable Test-playing nations had some thrilling presentations by players on the field. As the third week of November ends, we look at a recap of five top individual performances in the past week in cricket. Other than BJ Watling and Ishant Sharma; Marnus Labuschagne, Babar Azam and Virat Kohli are the top selections in my cricket week recap’s list this time. These players stayed on the crease to show top-class batting and bowling. This week was truly dedicated to Test cricket in the international cricket. 1. Virat Kohli- 136 Against Bangladesh

After Indian openers failed to go big against Bangladesh in 2nd Test 2019, Virat Kohli smashed a century. The Indian skipper took India to massive 347/9 in first innings and scored the only century of the Test match. 2. Ishant Sharma- 9 wickets Against Bangladesh

During IND vs BAN 2nd Test 2019, Ishant Sharma weakened Bangladesh’s batsmen with a strong bowling attack. The Indian pacer grabbed his a five-wicket haul in the first innings and four wickets in the 2nd innings to take nine wickets in total. He also got the player of the match award.

 

3. Marnus Labuschagne - 185 against Pakistan

After Pakistan were bowled out for 240 runs batting first in AUS vs PAK 1st Test 2019, Australia responded with mammoth 580-10 in 1st innings. Marnus Labuschagne missed on a double hundred by just 15 runs but was the highest scorer of the match with his 185-run knock. The match also witnessed spectacular performances by multiple players.

 

4. Babar Azam - 104 against Australia

In the same AUS vs PAK 1st Test 2019, Babar Azam smashed a century (104) when Pakistan were under severe pressure in the match. His top-class batting a pressure situation in Australia’s home is definitely commendable. 5. BJ Watling- 205 Against England

New Zealand vs England 1st Test 2019 witnessed Kiwi wicketkeeper BJ Watling hitting a double century. This enabled hosts New Zealand to defeat England by an innings and 65 runs. Other than the above list, some great performances were also seen in domestic cricket. Abu Dhabi T10 League 2019 saw Maratha Arabians winning the title. Many quick-fire knocks during the week in Abu Dhabi T10 League 2019 are definitely honourable mentions, however not part of my list this time.
