Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) began their campaign on a winning note, as both the teams registered victories in their respective first match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018. MS Dhoni-led CSK came from behind to beat Mumbai Indians (MI) out-of-nowhere, whereas, on the other hand, Dinesh Karthik-led KKR won their opening tie against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) comprehensively. With both sides set to clash on April 10, the tie will be an interesting watch!

Chennai Super Kings had almost lost the match with their key players couldn’t keep going, and their wickets kept falling at regular intervals. However, Dwayne Bravo was playing in a completely different zone. Not only did he smashed Sixes around the park, but his perfectly executed yorkers in the death overs of first innings helped CSK stem the flow of runs!

MS-Dhoni led CSK are back in the league and how! A full house is expected, on April 10. Ashey will be playing for the first match at the iconic M.A. Chidambaram stadium in two years. The bad news, however, for the Chennai camp is that they have lost Kedhar Jadav to injury. Murali Vijay’s availability to play on Saturday will define their side’s chances to win the game; not to forget the Playing XI.

On the other hand, Kolkata Knight Riders’ bowlers did not have a great night as their bowlers let RCB post an above-par score on the scoreboard. It was the master class of Sunil Narine, while batting, ensured that Chris Lynn’s early dismissal didn’t affect the team’s chances. However, it was Nitish Rana and Dinesh Karthik’s calm approach in the end that sealed their victory.

Both the teams are high on energy after winning in close encounters, in their very first match of the IPL 2018. Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders are set to lock horns at CSK’s home ground on April 10. It will be testing times for Dinesh Karthik to play against a team who has a success rate of nearly 70% at home-ground.

For CSK, the team will have to step-up their game if they are vying to be in the playoffs upon their return. MS Dhoni will have his task cut out as he didn’t contribute much with the bat, and the pressure to succeed at the home ground, in front of the thousands of fans is quite different. Well, Dhoni being Dhoni is not new to the level of expectations fans have from him. It will be fascinating to see how he performs as a captain and as a finisher in their game on Tuesday.
