Chennai, April 9: In wake of the protests launched by political parties and activists in Tamil Nadu over the Cauvery water sharing issue, the authorities have issued fresh guidelines for spectators expected to attend tomorrow's CSK vs KKR bash, barring them from carrying phones, flags and banners.

Actor-turned-politician Rajinikanth, while leading a demonstration over the Cauvery issue on Sunday, said the players of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) should wear black bands during the IPL matches to mark their protest against the Centre.

Along with Rajinikanth, political entrant Kamal Haasan and a slew of Tamil activists marked their apprehension against the IPL matches being held in the state amid the Cauvery crisis which "could deprive the state's farmers of water".

List of Items Banned by the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association:

- Phones, mobiles, laptops, radios, remote control devices and all other forms of gadgets have been banned.

- Bags, jholas, mobile phones and briefcases have also been barred.

- The fans are also disallowed from carrying binoculars, mirrors, glasses and knives.

- Flags and any other kind of publicity materials are also not allowed as per the guidelines issued before the match.

- Food and water from outside have also been barred from the stadium premises.

Apart from the above banned items, the stadium authorities have appealed the fans not to use abusive language against the players.

The IPL matches in Chennai are being played after a period of two years as the CSK was banned in the previous two editions of the league.
