India Becomes the First Visiting Team to Remain Unbeaten in All Formats in Australia During the Same Tour

The Indians sealed the three-match ODI series against Australia by 7 wickets at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. The visitors for the first time went on to seal the ODI series by 2-1 and this was their first bilateral victory in Australia. The team prior to this had also won the Test series by 2-1 and the T20I series got drawn 1-1. India had won the T20I series back in 2016. With the win in 2019, India became the first nation to remain unbeaten on the Australian soil. Yuzvendra Chahal was picked instead of Kuldeep Yadav in the team for the third ODI. The day started off with India winning the toss and asking the Aussies to bat first. Yuzvendra Chahal went on to restrict the Australians for on the score of 230 runs. He snapped six wickets giving away 42 runs and equalled the record of India’s veteran bowler Ajit Agarkar. MS Dhoni, who was criticised for his slow half-century in the first ODI at Sydney was back in form in the second game which was held at Sydney. A couple of days ago, the former Indian batsman took the team to the finishing line in Adelaide by scoring 55 runs from 54 balls. Dhoni once again played the role of a finisher in the third match. He scored a blistering knock of 87 runs and thereby registered his name amongst the elite list of cricketers like Virat Kohli, Sachin Tendulkar and Rohit Sharma for getting 1000 runs in Australia.
