After beating South Africa in the Test series, the Indian team continued their unbeaten run at the World Test Championship 2019-20 after beating Bangladesh by an inning and 46 runs.  In the day and night historic Test match held at the Eden Gardens, in Kolkata, the Indian players scripted history as the match got over in less than two and a half days. It was India who kept their chins high with Umesh Yadav claiming five wickets in the second innings and three in the first. Ishant Sharma chipped in with nine wickets in both innings. So after winning the toss, Bangladesh elected to bat first. Little did they know that they would get bundled out on the score of 106 runs on the first day itself. Ishant Sharma got five wickets, Umesh Yadav got three whereas Mohammed Shami got a couple of them. When India walked in to bat, they lost a couple of early wickets as they lost the wickets of Mayank Agarwal and Rohit Sharma. Virat Kohli and Chesteshwar Pujara put India back on the driver's seat. While Cheteshwar Pujara made way into the pavilion after scoring a half-century. Virat Kohli went on to bring up his 27th century and India declared their innings on the score of 347 runs.

Now in the second innings, the pacers continued to dominate the show as Umesh Yadav snapped five wickets and Ishant Sharma got four wickets and thus bundled out the Bangladeshi batsmen 195 runs.

#Virat Kohli became the first Asian batsman to score a century in the pink ball test.

#Kohli became the surpassed Sachin Tendulkar and Ricky Ponting for being the fastest player to bring up the 70th international century. The Indian cricket captain took 439 innings to reach the total. Master Blaster took 505 innings whereas the Australian captain took 649innings to bring up his 70th international century.

# He also equalled the record of Ricky Pointing for scoring the most number of international centuries as a captain.

#The Indian pacers also scripted the record of snapping the most number of wickets at home. The pacers plucked 19 wickets.

# Virat Kohli surpassed Allan Border to get the most number of Test wins. Virat Kohli has won 33 matches whereas the Australian captain had won 32.

#Kohli also became the first captain to win seven Test matches consecutively.

After the match, Wriddhiman Saha praised the lethal pace attack and said, "In the last 3-4 years, we have had an amazing pace attack, all 140+. We have been successful outside and at home. It has been wobbling and swinging all that, especially under lights. It's not that only spin is dominant now for India."
