Once regarded as the next big thing in the Indian cricket, KL Rahul is not enjoying a great run in International cricket and ongoing India vs Bangladesh series might well be the last chance for the batsman to retain his place in the side. In the first T20I of the series, the right-handed batsman struggled to put on the ball and was dismissed for a 17 ball 15. India eventually lost that match by seven wickets and the team management will certainly analyse the reason for their loss. So, time might well be running out for the batsman and he has to come good in the remaining two matches of the series in order to be the part of India’s upcoming assignment. India Vs Bangladesh, Cricket Score 2nd T20I Match.

With the ICC T20 World Cup 2020 being less than a year away, the team management will want to prepare a strong squad soon. By selecting the likes of Sanju Samson and Shivam Dube, the selectors have expressed that they are focusing on the young players which will put more pressure on the Rahul. In India’s last T20I assignment, the Karanataka-batsman warmed the benches against South Africa and Shreyas Iyer was selected ahead of him. However,  in the on-going series, Rahul played the first match and is also likely to play the next two as Virat Kohli has been rested for the series. But Kohli’s return might become his ouster again. Rohit Sharma Admits to Team Feeling Pressure Ahead of India vs Bangladesh 2nd T20I 2019.

Before this series, Rahul also faced the axe in the longest format of the game as he was not included in the three-match Test series against South Africa. In his absence, the opening duo of Mayank Agarwal and Rohit Sharma piled up a mountain of runs and have cemented their spot in the side. Also, Prithvi Shaw’s ban will also be lifted on November 15 means Rahul might have not to wait for a long time to feature in the whites again. However, he retained his spot in T20Is and will aim to make a mark in the ongoing series.
