KL Rahul, who had stepped into the shoes of injured Shikhar Dhawan opened the innings for the first time in the World Cup alongside Rohit Sharma. The two gave a blistering start to the team and brought in 136 run long stand for India. Both KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma scored a half-century. With this, the two even went on to break a 23-year-old record which was set by Sachin Tendulkar and Navjyot Singh Sidhu.
