After suffering a humiliating defeat against New Zealand at Hamilton, the Indian team ended the series against the Kiwis with a victory by 35 runs at Wellington. The visitors had already clinched the ODI series by 3-0 but the victory in the fifth ODI left a sweet taste in the mouth of the Indian fans. After the Indians won the match yesterday, the members of the team were heard chanting the famous dialogue from URI- The Surgical Strike which has Vicky Kaushal in the lead. The video of the moment was shared by the official account of the BCCI. “Looks like the 'JOSH' in the squad is 'HIGH SIR',” read the caption of the video. Kedar Jadhav played a crucial role by scoring 34 runs from 45 deliveries and made a partnership with Hardik Pandya who made 45 runs from 22 balls. Talking about the match, the Indian team won the toss and elected to bat first and scored 252 runs on the board. After the top three batsmen got cleaned up quite early in the game, Ambati Rayudu made 90 runs from 113 balls with eight fours and four maximums. Mohammed Shami and Hardik Pandya both clichéd two wickets each. Yuzvendnra Chahal snapped three wickets in the match.
