MS Dhoni is going to return to cricket next year. Yes, you heard that right as the former Indian skipper has got an offer to come on the field. Bangladesh Cricket Board has sent a letter to Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) requesting them to allow MS Dhoni to play in next year’s Asia XI and Rest of the World matches. There are two T20I international matches scheduled to be played in March 2020 between both the teams. BCB has urged BCCI to allow seven Indian cricketers to play in T20I series. A BCB official was quoted by India Today as saying that the report is true. Bangladesh Cricket Board chief executive Nizamuddin Chowdhury told them that BCB has sent a letter to BCCI and other Asian cricket boards to allow their cricketers to participate in these two cricket games. If BCCI gives a positive response to the request, we might witness MS Dhoni on the cricket field next year provided he makes himself available for the matches. MS Dhoni recently batted in the nets in Ranchi. His videos became viral since he came to the net practice after a long time. MS Dhoni has not played a single tournament since ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 match between India and New Zealand. India were ousted from World Cup 2019 in the semi-final match against Kiwis, losing by 18 runs. MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja were the only two batsmen who played good in the match. However, New Zealand fixed their berth in the final and eventually lost to England on boundary counts.

MS Dhoni was not part of India vs West Indies series 2019, India vs South Africa series 2019 and India vs Bangladesh Series 2019. Talking about Asia XI vs Rest of the World matches, the first T20I will be played on March 18, 2020 and the second T20I will be played on March 21, 2020. Bangladesh cricket is going to host the matches on their soil. Asia XI vs Rest of the World matches have international status given by the International Cricket Council (ICC).
