Age is just a number when it comes to MS Dhoni! The former Indian captain has time and again proved that he is still the best wicket-keeper in the world, leave aside the options available with the Indian team. With another lightning-quick stumping in the 4th ODI match against West Indies, on Monday, Dhoni has silenced his critics in style!
Windies team were already struggling in the match, and the defeat was looming over. However, it was MS Dhoni who’s stumping, and a wry smile later, drew the loudest cheer during the match. Social media went into a tizzy when Dhoni stumped Keemo Paul in the 28th over off Ravindra Jadeja’s bowling.

The 37-year-old wicket-keeper has always defied the laws of physics being in action behind the stumps. The acrobatic Dhoni has often helped India make a comeback during crunch situations.

With age-catching up and body movements restricted…err.. well, with MS Dhoni, there’s no such thing. The catch to dismiss Chanderpaul Hemraj in the third ODI match was enough testimony to the fact that it was foolery to think that age has slowed down Dhoni’s theatrics behind the stumps.
MS Dhoni, recently, was dropped from India’s T20 squad which will play against West Indies subsequently and Australia earlier next year, and all hell broke loose on social media. However, the selectors later clarified that the decision was ‘graciously welcomed’ by Dhoni himself.
Nonetheless, with all said and done, MS Dhoni happens to be the best wicket-keeping options India has for the forthcoming ICC World Cup, next year. Dhoni’s batting skills might have seen a dip, or his exploding-in-the-end abilities might be on the wane; however, MS Dhoni, the wicket-keeper, it seems is only getting better with age!
