Ahead of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) players draft 2018, Karachi Kings have released star all-rounder Shahid Afridi. Each franchise, ahead of the PSL player draft scheduled on November 20 in Islamabad, was allowed to retain up to 10 players. Apart from Afridi, Karachi Kings released Usama Mir, Khurram Manzoor, Mitchell Johnson, Luke Wright, David Wiese, Tabish Khan, Mohammad Irfan Jnr, Hasan Mohsin, Eoin Morgan, and Saifullah Bangash.

The franchise retained Mohammad Amir, Babar Azam, Colin Munro, Usman Khan, Colin Ingram, Imad Wasim, Mohammad Rizwan, and Ravi Bopara. Defending champions Islamabad United released some of the prominent players like Andre Russell, Misbah-ul-Haq, Samuel Badree, JP Duminy, Sam Billings, Alex Hales, and David Willey.

Peshawar Zalmi too released some of its prominent players like Shakib Al Hasan, Mohammad Hafeez, Haris Sohail, Chris Jordan, Dwayne Bravo, and Tamim Iqbal. PCB Terminates Agreement with PSL Franchise Multan Sultans

Earlier, during the trading window, the sixth team- previously Multan Sultans, sold Sohail Tanvir to Quetta Gladiators for Diamond-round pick and bought Mohammad Junaid from Quetta Gladiator in exchange for the second pick in Emerging Category. Quetta Gladiators also bought Umar Akmal and Sunil Narine from Lahore Qalandars in exchange of Hassan Khan and Rahat Ali.

The fourth edition of PSL T20 is scheduled to begin from February next year. Eight matches of PSL 2019 will be played in different cities of Pakistan. The final of the tournament will be played in Karachi on March 17.
