Rishabh Pant might have been under the scanner for Shaun Marsh’s dropped catch on the day one of the second Test match in Perth. But, the wicket-keeper batsman has gotten a record for himself in Australia and thus went on to surpass MS Dhoni and Syed Kimani. Wriddhiaman Saha in 2017, MS Dhoni in 2013-14, and Syed Kirmani in 1979 had taken 14 catches behind the stumps. A cricket expert tweeted about this record. “Rishabh Pant has now affected 15 dismissals in this Test series so far - the most for an Indian keeper against Australia in a Test series.  Prev. 14 each by S Kirmani (1979), MS Dhoni (2013, 2014) and W Saha (2017). #AUSvsIND,” read the tweet.

Rishabh Pant in the first innings scored 36 runs from 50 deliveries. He went on to hit a couple of fours. Talking about the match, after winning the toss, Australia elected to bat first. The hosts went score a total of 326 runs on the board. Ishant Sharma snapped four wickets, Jasprit Bumrah, Umesh Yadav and Hanuma Vihari got a couple of wickets each. Virat Kohli scored a century but his dismissal sparked controversy. India got bundled out on 283 runs and as of now, the Australians are currently batting on 192 for the loss of four wickets.
