Rohit Sharma has been one of the most prominent names in the T20I circuit. Now, for the third T20I game against South Africa, the Indian opener has made way into the playing XI of the game and with this has equalled MS Dhoni’s record when it comes to the most number of T20I appearances. So far in the history of T20I, MS Dhoni has appeared in the 98 matches and with Sharma making way into the match the Indian opener has equalled the former Indian captain’s record. Suresh Raina stands on number two after he appeared in 78 games. Number three spot is occupied by Indian captain Virat Kohli with 72 appearances. Former Indian left-hander Yuvraj Singh stands on number four appearing for 58 games. Shikhar Dhawan stands on number five with 55 matches. Now, Rohit Sharma is just eight runs away from becoming the highest T20I score. In the last match it was Virat Kohli. The Indian cricket captain has 2,441 runs in T20I cricket, while Sharma has 2,434 runs.

Since Sharma will come to bat before Kohli, all his fans would be hoping to get the record in his kitty. The series right now stands on 1-0  and the team would also want to walk away with a victory.
